Connection. To Marie Elena, that’s what it’s all about in the DJ booth. Getting people from different walks of life to share a moment and a song. Breaking the wall between audience and performer. Being inclusive but also surprising by playing various genres, deep cuts, or mashups in a single set. A BELLOSOUND DJ since 2019, and a lifelong guitarist, Marie was early influenced by the aesthetic, energy, and attitude of rock concerts. Citing Mark Ronson as an inspiration, for the imagination to blend old and new, and to not be afraid to give a set some edge, Marie is proudly open format and draws on Motown and disco along with other styles to provide a memorable soundtrack to someone’s night. Although trained on turntables, Marie is equally comfortable with digital set up but loves the unmatched magic of spinning vinyl.

“DJing the Toronto Maple Leafs outdoor practice and alumni game because, before I quit my day job to DJ full-time, I worked as an events personnel for the Leafs and Raptors. It was a big full circle for me and extremely gratifying.”
