Maher Shenouda

When Maher Shenouda first heard Daft Punk’s Random Access Memories at the age of 14, it ignited a passion for music discovery that has only expanded since. Born in Cairo, Egypt, and raised in Dubai, he moved to Canada for university and joined the BELLOSOUND team as a junior curator in September 2023. Describing his approach to playlist-making as “naturally methodical and particular,” Shenouda is responsible for supporting all curatorial operations, including the company’s growing portfolio of Middle East clients. His love of sharing joy through music also extends to his diverse DJ sets at venues across Toronto. In his spare time, he enjoys checking out concerts and stand-up comedy, playing and watching soccer, and scuba diving. 

Favourite BELLOSOUND memory to date?

“Honestly every interaction I’ve had with our partners, vendors, DJs, musicians, and clients has been so refreshing and interesting. Coming from an environment where music is never really perceived as a viable career option, I’m truly grateful to be surrounded by like-minded individuals. If I had to pick a specific highlight, it would be receiving nice compliments on my selections from staff and guests at Skylight Rooftop in W Toronto.”
