Ami 8 & DJ French Thomas

Hailing from Slovakia and France respectively, Ami 8 and DJ French Thomas are all about weaving narrative arcs with their sets. Both grew up in musical households, but had different introductions into electronic music. For Thomas, it was attending his first underground party in Buenos Aires, while Ami 8 points to his time spent in Saint-Tropez and Monaco clubs and compilations like Miguel Migs’ Nude Tempo One and Defected Records’ Soulfuric In The House. Since picking up a four-channel analog mixer and CDJs five years ago, the duo have brought their brand of soulful, jazzy, sultry house with a Balearic twist to gigs worldwide. When they aren’t DJing and working as teachers in Toronto, they’re frequently traveling to Ibiza, New York, and South France, soaking up sun, outdoor activities, and more musical inspiration.
