After more than a decade in Hong Kong, Ontario native DJ Indigo returned to Toronto where she first discovered house at underground parties. Citing influences from Honey Dijon and Black Coffee to Louie Vega and the Martinez Brothers, Indigo never plans her sets, but reads the room to start a conversation through music. Performing as a guest DJ or in residency requires her to be versatile, selecting everything from 80’s pop to disco. Regardless of venue, however, she seeks a balance between what people might want to hear and something new she wants to introduce. In addition to appearances at the Four Seasons, she regularly spins at Avenue, Bisha Hotel, and Choto Matte.
Favorite BELLOSOUND moment:
It’s actually not a moment performing it’s the in-between moments where I can connect with the BELLOSOUND staff, with the staff at the venue, the techs, and the fellow DJs and musicians. I cherish this above all, the way these diverse personalities and talents from different walks of life can come together to create something memorable and powerful through music.
