Mixtapes for friends in high school. Spinning at house parties and bars in university. A familiar pathway for many aspiring deejays. Combine that passion for music with an open and eager mind for new sounds and a desire to travel the world and you have in Patrick Voisin the blueprint for a BELLOSOUND DJ. Shortly after going pro in 2010, spinning as Patty V, Patrick made his name at Toronto clubs The Hoxton and This Is London. Since joining BELLOSOUND in 2015, he has performed across the globe, from Canada to the Bahamas and Dominican Republic. Playing his open format mix of house, dancehall, classic Motown, R&B, and his first love, hip-hop, Patrick builds on his diverse influences from Lauryn Hill and Marvin Gaye to Drake and Texas guitar hero Gary Clark Jr. When not on the decks, Patrick works in Digital Communications but says his “happy place” remains taking a packed dance floor on a musical journey.
Favourite BELLOSOUND moment?
“Warming up the crowd for Kardinal Offishall at the Pan Am Games in August, 2015 during Caribana Toronto. It was one of my first gigs for BELLOSOUND and a true pleasure opening for a Canadian hip-hop legend.”
