Growing up in the small town of Espanola, Ontario, five hours north of Toronto, Carson Freeman’s formative musical introduction came when a high school band visited his public school. Enthralled by the sound of the tenor saxophone, it wasn’t long before he found a group of like-minded students and formed a jazz combo. From there, he’s developed a style that’s accessible, adaptive, and highly inspired, which has led to him performing on stages across the world with celebrated Canadian and international artists. A father of three young kids, when Freeman’s not playing, he enjoys cooking and learning to play new instruments including oboe, trombone, guitar, and piano.
